During the last Veeam backup infrastructure deployment I ran into a strange error executing a SureBackup Job.
Basically the job failed to execute the test scripts with the error “Failed to create process with net logon”.
The machine was a domain controller so I decided to check services availability (ports 53, 389, and 3268) and each telnet query port was successful that meant that the vm was correctly published.
The solution, provided by the Veeam support, it was to uninstall a Windows security update, specifically KB3139914.
This security update resolves a vulnerability in Microsoft Windows that could allow elevation of privilege if the Windows Secondary Logon Service.
The issue has been reported also in the Veeam Community Forum.
